Keith Wansbrough's Cambridge Page
This page contains a few useful bits and pieces I've accumulated
about Cambridge, England, where I've been living since
October 1998. These are my personal opinions based on
experience, and I make no claim to any kind of completeness!
This page is of course under construction.
Places to eat
- Anatolia, Quayside.
- Al Casbah, 62 Mill Road, Cambridge CB1 2AS. Phone
01223 579 500 / 561 666. "Mediterranean Food.
Charcoal Grill".
- The Green Man, Six Mile Bottom. This pub has its own
French chef, who cooks wonderful food in generous portions. The
dining area is extremely pleasant, the service is good, and there is a
fabulous and surprising garden at the rear.
Thesis binding
- Stoakley Bookbinders was recommended to me as being
"slightly more expensive but never ever making a mistake". 67a Bridge
Street, Cambridge, CB2 1UR. Phone 01223 355941. I don't
hesitate in repeating the recommendation. They check
everything - when Carolyn took her thesis there to be bound, they
called her back a couple of hours later, before binding, to say that
one page appeared to be missing from one copy. They did a great job
of my thesis too.
Miscellaneous bits and bobs
- Valeader Pneumatics (Coral Park Estate) sell all kinds of
tubing (and fittings too, although I've never bought any). Not just
pneumatics. Very handy when you need a couple of metres of some weird
bit of hose for a project.
