Aidan certainly knows how to celebrate in style - he had not just one, but four 1st birthday parties!! He celebrated firstly with his friends, secondly with Mummy and Daddy's friends, thirdly with some of the extended family and finally with lots of his and Mummy's friends from the web board.
Aidan thoroughly enjoyed himself at all the events, so here is a flavour of all four of his celebrations. There are also a few pictures from his birthday itself. Enjoy!

Aidan's First 1st Birthday Party - the Children's One!1pm - 4pm, Saturday 3rd July 2004Adam C., Ollie, Adam P., Zadok, baby Elijah (sadly George couldn't make it) and all their parents all came to Aidan's first 1st Birthday Party, held at home on Saturday 3rd July 2004. The children had lots of fun playing with all Aidan's indoor toys, eating lots of yummy food and generally creating chaos in the house. The highlight of the party came when the weather, which had been rather dull and drizzly, cleared enough to let the boys get out into the garden and play on Aidan's bouncy castle! |

Aidan's Second 1st Birthday Party - the Grown-Up's One!7.30pm - late, Wednesday 7th July 2004This was supposed to be the party where Mummy got to celebrate all her hard work of a year ago. The plan was that she would be sitting with her feet up sipping champagne at 2017, with a peacefully sleeping certain small boy upstairs... Aidan, however, had other ideas and, as without him there wouldn't be a party, he decided to gate-crash... Annik, Mark, Anna, Marco, James and Allie were all there. We drank champagne, ate traffic light jellies, and enjoyed a spectacular coffee and walnut cake (definitely an adults cake!) from Fitzbillies. Mummy and Daddy were too busy relaxing after all their hard work organising my parties that they didn't take many photos that night! Aidan loved being the centre of attention, and spent the evening cruising round the room from person to person, eating whatever food he could get his hands on, and attempting to get the last dregs out of the bottle of champagne. |

Aidan's Third 1st Birthday Party - the Family One!Saturday 10th July 2004Aidan went to the Lake District for a week with Mummy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa. At the weekend, Auntie Elaine, Uncle Chris, Uncle Jonathan, Great-Auntie Jeanne & Great-Uncle Jeff, and cousins Philip & Jill all arrived so we could have a big family party to celebrate the 1st birthday of the first of the next generation! Grandma Tony, Grandpa Norman, Auntie Heather and Uncle Martin all live in New Zealand, so sadly they couldn't join us. |

Aidan's Fourth 1st Birthday Party - the Web Board One!1pm - 4pm, Saturday 21st August 2004The First Birthday Bash: shared with Amber, Ollie, Jessica, Joshua, Martin, Alyssa, Emma, Katelyn, Taya, Toby and Ryan. Mummy has made lots of friends on a web board for Mums who also had a baby in July 2003. To celebrate all of the babys' First Birthdays, Mummy and Daddy organised the First Birthday Bash, which was held in Cambridge on August 21st, 2003. There were twelve one-year olds altogether, with people travelling from all over England, and even as far afield as Norway, to be there. All the mummies had a great time meeting each other in person, while the daddies tried to keep up with who was who, and the children ran riot in the hall. It was a wonderful, although exhausting, day. |
