Aidan is now eleven months old. He seems to have largely regained his confidence in his ability to do things, but is still being very clingy. Despite this, he's been doing really well and continuing to amaze us with all his new abilities.
He has learned how to get down off things safely - feet first! This involves doing three-point turns at the top of the stairs which are quite amusing to watch. He can also get down off our bed, the sofa, or the picnic table safely too. His balance is really improving and he lets go of whatever he's holding onto quite regularly now, often for several seconds at a time. Then he realises what he's doing and sits down carefully.
When Aidan is given something he has now learned to say "Ta". However he will often say this before he's given it too! Guess we'll be teaching him to say "please" next!! His vocabulary is generally expanding, although not really in English yet, but he is learning to discriminate between "mama" and "dada".
Aidan has been continuing to practice putting things into things and has been getting very good at putting the shapes into the correct hole (square into square hole, star into star hole) in his wooden puzzle. He is also learning how to lift the lid of his toy chest - although he hasn't quite realised that if someone is sitting on it he won't succeed!
While Aidan has been doing really well in many ways, his Mummy and Daddy have fared slightly worse. Mummy was unwell for a week with a chest infection, and the antibiotics she was on made Aidan feel quite unwell for a while. This made him cling even more to them and refuse to sleep, and the sad thing we discovered at the end of this two weeks was that we hadn't even managed to take six photographs to show you - yes, it really was that bad. But things are getting better now... we hope!

Helping Daddy in the garden. This is great fun - I get to help Daddy and eat my biscuit at the same time! |
