Aidan is now eleven weeks old. Highlights of the week: on Thursday
he giggled (in contrast to the indrawn-breath thing he's been doing
for a while now). He's grabbing everything in sight, and taking it to
his mouth. And on Sunday he managed to crawl about 40cm!! (with a
repeat performance on Monday). Admittedly it was slightly downhill,
but it was purposeful and directed motion, and involved a lot
of effort on Aidan's part. Mode of locomotion was commando-crawl,
grabbing the material of the cushion/mat, kicking with his legs, and
wriggling his body forwards. Exhausting!

Aidan feeding himself. Aidan now grabs everything, including his
bottle - here he is managing to hold it all by himself, while Daddy
looks (gratefully) on!

Making a splash. Baths are a very exciting time, because you can kick
and thrash away, and all sorts of exciting things happen: water
splashes everywhere, you propel yourself violently against the other
side of the bath, and your toy rattles. Wow!

Aidan proudly displaying his grabbing ability. He now grabs
everything, but especially likes his links.

On his eleventh birthday (weeks, of course!) we used a kit to make a
plaster cast of Aidan's foot. We put his foot in special jelly to
make the mould, filled it with plaster, and cut away the mould. Here
is the result! Notice Carolyn's thumb for scale.
