Aidan is now 12 and a half months old. He's had a very exciting couple of weeks since his first birthday. We went to the Lake District on holiday for a week with Grandma and Grandpa. On Saturday 10th, Auntie Elaine, Uncle Chris, Uncle Jonathan, Auntie Jeanne and Uncle Jeff (who are Great), and cousin Philip and Jill joined us to help me celebrate my first birthday. We had lots of fun.

We went swimming several times during the week, which Aidan loved. He also had his first experience of travelling on a narrow-gauge (15") railway.

Aidan spent much of his time practising his standing and walking. He is able to stand up and sit down without holding onto anything and he can also stand unsupported quite comfortably for long periods of time. He would also look around as if he was about to walk somewhere purposefully, but then he would either chicken out and sit down, or he would take one or two steps and then sit down.

Now that he's one, Aidan also got to try honey for the very first time - he seems to enjoy it, but isn't really into eating bread or toast just now.

Aidan also met his new childminder for the first time on 22 July. He decided to show-off to her and demonstrated for the first time his ability to roll a ball to knock a skittle over!

Celebrating my 1st Birthday! Mummy, Daddy and I at my second 1st Birthday Party in the Lake District with all of Mummy's family. I especially loved the cake Grandma and Grandpa brought for me.
