I'm now 19 months old! It's been a month of excitement, and I've been learning new words and skills. It began sadly, with seeing Nan and Grandad off at Heathrow Airport as they went back to New Zealand. The following week Daddy had an interview in Enfield, north London, which was great because it meant I got to spend a whole day with Catherine and Emily and their mum and dad! I love playing with them. Daddy got the job, too - yay! We'll be moving to Scotland later this year!
I've learnt some new tricks, like taking my own shirt off (when Daddy does it for me I get scared when my eyes are covered), and lying down in the bath and soaking - that's a wonderful relaxing feeling.
Mummy and Daddy are impressed at my vocabulary, but I don't see what's so surprising about me talking! I can say "light box", "pear", "toe", "clock", "hand", I ask for things like "click click" or "up" to be let out of my high chair, and I make up new words like "on on" for the knob on the tap. I can even generalise concepts I've learned in other contexts - Mummy and Daddy were very impressed (and amused!) when I said "bye bye pasta" and then ate it!
Later on in the month I had a couple more trips away: to Leeds to visit little baby Isaac and his Mummy and Daddy (he took me to a Wacky Warehouse soft play area which was lots of fun), and to Scotland to see "Gungle" Jonathan and Grandma and Grandpa. That was all a bit much excitement, and I was pleased to get back to my normal routine of Rhyme Time, TumbleTots, Jo Jingles, and play group (I'm looking forward to my eardrum healing up so I can go swimming again - it's been ages!).

Me at Planet Zoom, a soft play area in Ely. I come here regularly with my childminder, as well as occasionally with Mummy and Daddy, and I love it! This is the little people's area, but there's a big kids' bit as well with slides and tunnels and ladders, which is great fun when I have someone to help me. |

Cinnamon toast at the Coach House, Luss. This is one of Mummy and Daddy's favourite haunts, and I can see why! A roaring open fire, sofas and high chairs, great service, and perfect tea and food. |
| Practicing my Freddie Mercury act. This is me exploring the possibilities offered by Daddy's nifty tripod. | ![]() ![]() Image 0036-6536 Canon PowerShot S45 1/60 sec., f/2.8 2005:01:16 18:23:56 UTC |

Me at the Wacky Warehouse at the Lawnswood Arms in Leeds. Isaac took me here, but I did most of the playing for him - he's only a few months old, so he sat and watched. |
| Playing by Linlithgow Loch, on a wonderful spinning playground contraption. It was lots of fun, but I was a bit cold. | ![]() ![]() Image 0036-6578 Canon PowerShot S45 1/60 sec., f/2.8 2005:01:29 16:52:59 UTC |
