Aidan is now 28 months old and became a big brother this month! His little sister, Megan, was born on Monday, 10th October and Aidan adores her! He loves to stroke her hair, give her kisses and cuddles, and wants to sit beside her and share everything (including his milk, juice and food) with her. He's beginning to understand that he needs to be gentle with her, and that she can't eat and drink what he does yet!

With Megan's arrival, we've had lots of visitors in the last month, and Aidan has really enjoyed all the extra attention and people to play with. We've started going to a Pre-fives group at our local church, which Aidan seems to have taken to very well - much as he enjoys playing with adults, he's missed playing with his friends. He's also continued to enjoy going to Tumbletots.

Aidan sings nearly all the time - his current favourites are "I hear thunder... pitter patter raindrops... I'm wet through, so are you!", "The wheels on the bus", and "Twinkle, twinkle little star". The latter he loves to sing to Megan to help her go to sleep.

He has been using the toilet more recently in the mornings, before he gets dressed, or before his shower/bath in the evening. He prefers to stand on his stool at the toilet, rather than sitting on his toilet seat or using the potty.

Megan gave Aidan a toy toolbox when she arrived - it contains a drill, which has become Aidan's favourite toy. He uses it for its intended purpose, but also pretends it is a blender and makes "banana milkshake", or a mixer to make "fairy cakes". It is lovely to see him inventing his own games, and using his imagination.

Aidan has been learning to recognise numbers, and can now recognise the digits zero through to six. He also knows left from right, and can correctly tell us which is his left hand (foot/ear) from the right, but also which is our left or right.

Me and my brand-new sister. Megan Lindsay McEwan Wansbrough was born on the 10th of October 2005. I think she is great, and I love being a big brother.

Getting ready for my shower. I really wanted to have a shower, so I proved it to Mummy and Daddy by getting all undressed all by myself.

At Tumbletots. I've started going to a new Tumbletots class in Linlithgow, and I've also moved up to the 2-3 year class. It's much more structured than my old class used to be, but I'm getting used to it now.
