Aidan is nearly four years old now! In preparation for going to nursery school after the summer holidays (for his pre-school year), he is now going to playgroup five sessions per week. It's been good to get back into routine again, and Aidan's enjoyed being back at Tumbletots and Sunday School, not to mention meeting Gungle at the Golf Club for lunch! He's also had a much-needed haircut, and happily goes to Gungle's barber these days - a far cry from a year or so ago when we had to hold him down!
Aidan's had a fun month - with trips to Parkhill (where he particularly enjoys the basket swing - see photo below); Muiravonside Country Park on a number of occasions with Diane, Ruth and all their associated children; Space Bugs; Beecraigs Country Park with Mummy and Daddy, and Grandpa; an overnight stay at Grandma and Grandpa's house; Callendar Park with some friends; and lunch at Lunch Bunch (a weekly cafe run by the church who own the building next to playgroup).
There have also been fun outings to the garden centre (where he and Megan love to run around); the Brownies Coffee Morning with Grandma and Auntie Jeanne (Who-Is-Great - Mummy's auntie); the Spring Fayre at Grandma and Grandpa's church (where he had a fantastic time on the Bouncy Castle, and also bought some marigolds for the window box in his playhouse); and a trip to IKEA!
Aidan had a hearing test this month at the Forth Valley Sensory Centre - the first test since his grommets were inserted. He did very well, and we were very pleased to find that his hearing is within normal limits and the grommets are doing their job.
Jill came to visit this month and took us all swimming. Aidan did brilliantly well - even treading water on his own! He has also finally cracked riding his bicycle, thanks to a couple of local kids who showed him how it was done (thanks Jamie and Calum!). He's very pleased with himself, and one of his favourite activities now is "bike-cycling"!!
It's been good to see Aidan starting to talk to other children when he's out playing - he's been learning to ask them their name, and generally chatting (normally trying to convince them to go along with one of his schemes though!).
Aidan's most cute comment of the month has to be when Aidan remarked that Megan, with her hair wet from a hair wash, looked just like a ballet dancer!
