Aidan is now three and a half years old! Aidan celebrated his fourth Christmas this month, participated in his first ever Christmas service (sadly they didn't do a Nativity, but he had lots of fun singing the songs with the rest of the Sunday School!), and went on his first proper merry-go-round ride (an experience he thoroughly enjoyed!).
Aidan's usual activities playgroup, Tumbletots and Pre-5's, continued until well into December. We also had some lovely lunches out - at a friend's, at the Golf Club, and at The CoachHouse in Luss. Our trip to Luss was particularly exciting, as Loch Lomond was in full flood after all the recent rain, and much of Luss was under water!
Aidan's fairy cake making skills were much appreciated this month when he helped Mummy make fifty of them for his playgroup Christmas party. He met Santa at the party, an experience he was slightly overwhelmed by! We also took him to Santa's Grotto at Rouken Glen Garden Centre, and the Canal Basin in Linlithgow - this included a trip on a canal barge, which Aidan loved. And on Christmas Eve, Grandma and Grandpa took him and Megan on the Santa Express, at Bo'Ness and Kinneil Railway.
Aidan's fourth Christmas was preceded by another ear infection - his ear drum perforated on the Saturday evening, so he and Daddy spent a couple of hours at the out-of-hours clinic at the hospital to get a course of antibiotics.
Christmas itself and Boxing Day were a lovely couple of days and Aidan thoroughly enjoyed meeting lots of family (including cousin Jill, who is home now having been in Australia for 18 months, and David, Grandma's cousin, and his son Neil with his girlfriend Mandy) and getting plenty of attention from them all - probably more than all his new presents!
Aidan really loved having his Auntie Elaine and Uncle Chris to stay for a few days, going for several trips to Beecraigs, out for fun walks with friends (most especially a walk with Lorna and Andrew, who gave Aidan lots of swings!), and building lego towers to almost reach the ceiling, with Andrew and Jo - friends of Daddy and Mummy from New Zealand.
Aidan has recently started saying "And a hug to put the kisses inside": Aidan will give you a kiss, and then follow up with "a hug to put the kisses inside". This wonderfully cute notion is entirely his own invention. Bless!
