Aidan is four years and two months old! The end of the summer holidays have been pretty busy, as usual, and we've been out and about a fair bit - if you want to see what we've been up to, please check out Megan's twenty-three month page!
The main excitment of this month for Aidan has, however, been that he started Preschool!
Here in Scotland, his preschool is actually the Nursery Class of the Primary School he is enrolled in for next year. At present, the School are completing some new buildings on the campus, so the nursery class has the excitment of being taken by bus down to another local primary school campus, where the Nursery has use of a couple of adjoining portacabins. They have done a super job of fitting out the classrooms, and the nursery is a very welcoming place to be - and if this is what they create in temporary accomodation, we look forward all the more to seeing the permanent accomodation! When it's completed (in August 07; no sorry make that October 07; well actually Christmas 07; umm, actually we really don't know when...).
Keith took Aidan to nursery on his first day (August 27th). They stayed for 45 minutes, and Aidan didn't want to come home! On the Tuesday, he went in for 45 minutes without us there; and then, finally, on the Wednesday, he was allowed to stay for the whole session! He seems to love it, and has settled in very well there.
Aidan has had lots of fun this month doing electronics with Daddy, both using his electronics kit (on one occasion, they made a moisture testers to see if Mummy's plants needed watered...), but also rewiring his playhouse (he now has the upstairs and downstairs lights on a separate circuit, complete with their own switches), and his must be one of the few playhouses around that boasts its own door bell! Aidan is fascinated by electronics, and spends large quantities of his free time rewiring (using strings and shoelaces) anything from the lounge, to his playhouse, to the garden!
In other "firsts" Aidan had his first trip to the cinema this month, when Grandma took him to see Surf's Up. He seemed to have a great time, although it was a little on the loud side for him.
