Aidan’s Gallery: five years five months old
Aidan is now five years and five months old. The children really enjoyed their October holiday week, and have had a very busy second term since. We're now mid-preparations for Christmas and looking forward to the end of term next week.
During the October holidays, we kept pretty busy, including a trip to Almond Valley Heritage Centre, a lovely day trip to East Links Park with Grandma and Grandpa, playing with friends, going to the park, and taking Daddy to the zoo for the day!
This term has been lots of fun, with both children enjoying play dates with various friends, the school fayre, Aidan's first ever school disco, a farewell party, and several Christmas parties already!
A favourite haunt of Aidan's is the garden centre, to look at all the Christmas lights. Inspired by this Aidan has been making his own Christmas lights, out of LED's and crocodile clips! It's very impressive!
Aidan is not really enjoying football very much, although his ball skills have progressed enormously over the last few months, so we've agreed to stop those classes at the end of term. He is loving riding his bike however, and can now ride without stabilisers on - something he is justifiably very chuffed about!
He's progressing very well at school, over the October holidays, things just seemed to click into place for him, and he started to read. Now he tries to read everything everywhere, which is great. He loves stories (we're reading The Folk of the Faraway Tree (Enid Blyton) and Astrosaurs at the moment) and is attempting to read some of his shorter books for himself. His writing, although messy, is legible and he wrote his own Christmas cards for the very first time this year! He also wrote a postcard for the very first time!
