Being pregnant involved lots of routine check-up appointments, blood tests, and scans. Carolyn was blessed with a very straightforward pregnancy with no complications. Below is a list of some of the important dates during the nine months before Aidan's arrival.

| Monday, 16th December, 2002 | Dating scan. Dates put forward by 1 week. (12+1 weeks, amended) |
| Friday, 3rd January, 2003 | Routine blood tests. (14+5 weeks) |
| Tuesday, 14th January, 2003 | 16 week appt with midwife. Heard heartbeat for first time! (16+2 weeks) |
| Thursday, 13th February, 2003 | Anomaly scan. Baby is a BOY! (20+4 weeks) |
| Tuesday, 18th March, 2003 | 24 week appt with midwife. (25+2 weeks) |
| Wednesday, 9th April, 2003 | 28 week appt with GP. (28+3 weeks) |
| Saturday, 3rd May, 2003 | 32 week midwife appt - to discuss Home Birth. (31+6 weeks) |
| Tuesday, 27th May, 2003 | 35 week appt with midwife. Baby is 3/5 engaged. (35+2 weeks) |
| Wednesday, 4th June, 2003 | Positioning scan. Baby is cephalic, anterior and RHS. (36+3 weeks) |
| Friday, 6th June, 2003 | Maternity leave begins. (36+5 weeks) |
| Tuesday, 10th June, 2003 | 37 week midwife appt. Baby is 2-3/5 engaged. (37+2 weeks) |
| Wednesday, 25th June, 2003 | 39 week midwife appt. Baby is 2/5 engaged. (39+3 weeks) |
| Wednesday, 2nd July, 2003 | 40 week midwife appt. Baby is 2/5 engaged. (40+3 weeks) |
| Monday, 7th July, 2003 | 41 week appt with midwife. Baby is 2/5 engaged. (41+1 weeks) |
| Monday, 7th July, 2003 | 2017 AIDAN ARRIVED! (41+1 weeks or 40+1 weeks by my dates!) |
