Megan is now one year and two months old. She got her first pair of shoes this month - Clarks size 4F. She wore them straight away and walked properly outside for the first time. Her favourite part was holding Mummy and Daddy's hands, and having a "1-2-3 wheeee" swing!

Megan continues to enjoy her routine pursuits including Pre-5's, Gymbabes, Musical Steps and also meeting family and friends for coffee and lunch. Now that she's walking confidently, she's enjoying being able to walk and dance at Musical Steps, especially playing "Ring-a-ring-a-roses"!

We've been on a few shopping trips this month - to Edinburgh, to Livingston and to IKEA. When we went to Livingston she insisted on walking, rather than going in her buggy - she certainly attracted lots of attention by toddling along, handbag in hand!

We had a lovely weekend away visiting Lorna and Andrew in the Lake District and then Sheila, Jason and the twins in Manchester. We visited Rheged in the Lake District, the Glasgow Science Centre (Megan had a wonderful time playing here), Dobbies Garden Centre to see all the Christmas paraphenalia, and the Linlithgow Advent Fayre, which culminated with the switching on of the Christmas Lights.

Another fun trip was to The Singing Kettle's Winter Wonderland. Megan really loved the singing, frequently clapping her hands and was enthralled by much of the performance.

In other news, Megan had another ear infection this month resulting in another course of antibiotics. She also (finally) had her 12-month check with the health visitor, who was very pleased with her progress.

She's been working on her climbing skills (thanks Gymbabes!), and has managed to climb onto the sofa for the first time. She can also point to her head when asked "where's Megan's head?". She loves books and being read stories - in fact her concentration is really improving and she will listen to two stories, instead of grabbing the book to practise turning pages.
