Megan is now seventeen months old! She's had a busy month, with Pre-5's, Tumbletots, Musical Steps, playing with Aidan, visiting friends and family, going to the park, playing in the garden (and getting very mucky!), and practising walking and talking!
We spent a lovely afternoon in Edinburgh visiting Claire, Madi, Juju and Ellie - Megan had lots of fun playing with the "big kids" and demonstrating to Ellie what the kinds of mischief she'll be able to get up to in a few more months! We also had another fun day trip to Brechin to visit Stacey and Becca.
Megan is definitely working on her speech at the moment - her "thank you" is becoming more intelligible and she will often saying it at the correct time. She's attempted to say "Gungle" too - no prizes for guessing who is one of Megan's favourite people! She hates people leaving, but is consoled by waving bye-bye (& shouting it!) as they leave. It's especially cute when she does this from her cot as you say good night to her.
Megan loves to walk, and usually prefers it to sitting in the buggy, so walking to the park and back again is becomin a more frequent occurence. We also had a fun visit to Callendar Park with Diane and her two boys, Joshua and Andrew. Megan had her second haircut this month, and a new pair of shoes - she's now 4½F.
Probably Megan's most favourite activity is dressing up! Any sock will do - be it Aidan's or Daddy's. She knows that socks go on feet, but is still learning where other items of clothing go as can be seen from the following description (this happened on February 14th)...
Picture the scene:
Megan was running around in a nappy and T-shirt (the house was lovely and warm). Aidan went to the toilet, and Megan followed. The next thing I know she's wearing A's pants round her neck, and has put on both his blue socks.
I retrieved the pants and put them onto Aidan - who proceeds to soak his top half when washing his hands. He then takes his top and singlet off so I sent him upstairs to get some more clothes - he returns with a fresh singlet and a pair of green socks.
So the next thing I see is Megan wearing A's singlet (as trousers) and wearing one of the new pair of socks.
A finally got his trousers (back-to-front) and his singlet (having first put it on over his head, not put his arms through the arm holes, and so pulled it off over his feet!) on.
Now M is wearing her nappy, her T-shirt, one green sock (the new socks) and one blue sock (the old sock).
Aidan went upstairs and chose a new top (blue to go with his green trousers) and put it on. Megan then took off the blue sock, and was now wearing two green socks (which of course are about six sizes too big for her!).
Kids are fab!
Our camera was out of action for most of this month, hence the lack of photos. We're pleased to say that it's fixed now, thanks to the good people at photography-on-the-net.
