Megan is now one and a half years old! She is a happy and confident little girl, whose sunny smile just lights up whatever room she is in. She seems to gotten over her shyness of various family members - for a few weeks, only Mummy or Grandma would do. Now she blesses everyone with cuddles :-) .
We've had some lovely visits with friends this month - both at home, or at their homes. It's been great to see Rachel; Heather, Jack & Euan; Steve, Varya and Benjamin and Toby; Ali, Ruaridh and Fionleagh; Diane, Joshua and Andrew; and Uncle Chris's mummy, Auntie Margaret. It was also great to see Great-auntie Jeanne and Great-uncle Jeff, and of course, cousin Jill now that she lives so close!
We also had a fun weekend in Inverness, visiting Auntie Elaine and Uncle Chris. Megan loved running around at Abriachan - a park in the mountains surrounding Loch Ness (she didn't manage to spot Nessie though :-( ). It was a more exciting journey home on the Sunday though - as we had to drive home through a snow storm, which made coming through Drumochter pass a bit more interesting than usual!
Megan is having a wonderful time at Tumbletots with Grandpa. On one occasion this month though, Grandpa allowed Mummy the privilege of taking Megan to class. Mummy was much impressed with Megan's progress, and especially seeing her tuck her head under in preparation for doing a forward roll. We went swimming this month - with all the ear infections this winter has brought, it's been a long time since we were last there. Megan had a great time - especially playing "Catch" with a ball, and splashing around in the water.
Megan spoke her first two-word sentence on the 16th of March - as Daddy was leaving for work that morning she said "Bye-bye Daddy". Part of her morning ritual is to stand on the windowsill, waving bye-bye until Daddy is out of sight. She is clearly working hard on her speech, and is now trying out all sorts of new words if prompted, such as "quack quack". She does seem to be on the cusp of talking properly now,and it seems likely that it won't be long until she is...
