Megan is now twenty months old! She's had a fun month, with some exiting trips as well as the usual activities of creche, Tumbletots, Pre-5's, Fellowship Group play, lunch at the Golf Club, walks at Muiravonside and trips to the Callendar Park, Parkhill and the local play park. Her confidence and climbing skills continue to improve and she's very good at going across rope bridges on her own). We also had a fun lunch at Lunch Bunch (the lunch club run at the church next door to Aidan's playgroup). Her first second molar (lower left) made an appearance this month too.
Megan loved having a sleep-over at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and a visit to the Brownies coffee morning with Grandma and Auntie Jeanne (although she came home very muddy from this visit... Wonder what did happen at the coffee morning?!).
Another excitement of the month was going to Space Bugs for the first time (now that she's actually old enough to go! She had a whale of a time, and especially enjoyed the flying fox, and climbing up the ramp to get to the upper level (the ramp is split into two levels and she didn't master getting from one level to the next, but she will soon I'm sure!).
We had a lovely visit from Jill, and went swimming again which Megan thoroughly enjoyed. We also had a trip to the Spring Fayre at Grandma and Grandpa's church (where the bouncy castle was the main attraction, despite being the smallest on there by quite a way), and a trip to IKEA via Daddy's office (Megan was very excited to see where Daddy spends most of the week working). She has also enjoyed meeting (and charming!) Ed and Mary, and various other friends of Grandma and Grandpa. Megan loved having her little friend Becca, and her Mummy and Daddy (Stacey & bump, and Alan) come to stay for a couple of days.
Megan has started practicing getting dressed and undressed and she can be seen running around the house in various states of undress at any given point during the day! She can manage trouser, skirts and socks okay, but finds tops a little more complicated - which of the three holes does she put her head/arm into? She regularly gets herself into some terrible tangles!
She's also showing off the different animal noises she can make "baa" for sheep, "kak kak" for duck, "mooo" for cow, "roooar" for dinosaur (and for lion) - we don't know who taught her that one. Her sense of rhythm is coming along too - when Walk of Life (Dire Straits) came on the radio recently, Megan started clapping her hands in time to the music! Another first for this month is that she has discovered the word "no"!
Megan also likes to copy Aidan. She uses some of his phrases and intonations - in the bath recently she said "oh no!" in a way that sounded exactly like Aidan. She copies him after she washes her hands too - while she is drying her hands on the towel she will start making a noise pretending it's a hand drier! She's extremely cute!

Grandma's earrings. Megan loves wearing these, but she loves taking them off too - they never stay on long. |
