Megan Lindsay McEwan Wansbrough - Megan's Gallery

Megan is now two and a half years old! Two weeks of this month have been the Easter school holidays, so we've been going out and about a bit more than normal. Megan's big news of the month is that she's decided the time has come to potty-train, and she's generally been a very happy and busy little girl.

We've done our usual round of the local parks - Polmont Park, Beecraigs, Zetland Park, Muiravonside Country Park, as well as several of the local playparks near to our house, and near to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Far and away, Megan's favourite activity is swinging - she loves to be pushed and my arms usually give out before she's ready to come out! We've been swimming regularly too, and both children are gaining in confidence in the water.

There have also been a couple of trips slightly further afield, with a visit to Deep Sea World at North Queensferry, which both children loved; a trip up to Brechin to visit Stacey, Becca and Sarah, and a trip to Almond Valley Heritage Centre with Grandma.

Megan takes a keen interest in everything her big brother is doing and, on one particular occasion, she was sitting beside us as Aidan and I worked through one of his Maths Bags from school. One of the other activities in the bag was a game which consisted of lots of individual socks which could be paired up according to their patterns. Megan started to work her way through this pile and matched them up completely accurately.

Megan and Mummy went to a mini-meet with a couple of others from her birthboard on the baby website Mummy posts on. We met at Noah's Ark soft play in Perth and it was lovely to meet Cassie and her children for the first time, and to see Stacey and the girls once again. After having a wonderful time playing in the soft play, Megan and Becca had the fun of doing some painting in the ceramics place.

Megan's venture into the world of being potty-trained has been a bit of a bumpy ride - after a flying start, it went downhill. After several days of accidents, it got to the point that we felt she was perfectly aware of when she needed to go, so was using "accidents" as a way of manipulating us. So we made a tactical withdrawal, let her choose nappies or pants and said nothing more about it, and since then she's been practically dry - one accident all weekend, and dry during naps. Go Megan!
