Megan’s Gallery: five months old

Megan is now five months old! We took Megan on her first holiday this fortnight, so she's had a very exciting week followed by a very quiet one spent recovering at home.

During the first week we drove down to Cambridge, via Newton Aycliffe (to visit Auntie Jeanne, Uncle Jeff and Philip), Leeds (where we visited Sophie, Nick and Isaac) and London (where Megan spent her first night in a hotel). From there we went to Cambridge, where we stayed with Auntie Allie and Uncle Ken (Megan's godparents) and caught up with a few friends and got to introduce Megan to good friends Kathleen, Glenn, Adam and Lauren.

The week began with Megan cutting her second tooth (on Auntie Jeanne's knuckle!!) and ended with her coming down with a rather nasty cough which took her about a week to recover from. During the week, she spent her first night in a room on her own (at Sophie's house - she didn't miss us in the slightest and slept through the whole night without a murmur!), visited the Funky Funhouse (a new soft play in Cambridge) and visited Anglesey Abbey. She also got to see where Mummy, Daddy and Aidan lived before they moved to Scotland.

One funny thing Megan started doing this week was to blow raspberries if she didn't like whatever you were doing, for example blowing her nose or wiping her face! She's also becoming more vocal and has started making "baba" noises. Megan is starting to practise rolling over from her back to her tummy - and becoming quite good at it! She is still enjoying spending time on her tummy and practising her early attempts at crawling.

The second week was a very quiet one as Aidan was really very unwell with a nasty respiratory infection he picked up while we were in Cambridge. Megan also had it, although less seriously, and we stayed at home most of the week to let them both get better. The only excitment during the week was Auntie Elaine came to visit on her birthday and we had a lovely meal with her.

Making friends with Lauren. Lauren is Adam's (Aidan's friend) little sister - she's about two months older than me. I met her for the first time when we went to Cambridge.

Auntie Allie and Uncle Ken. We went for a lovely walk at Anglesey Abbey on our last day in Cambridge - the snowdrops, cornuses and silver birch trees were beautiful.
