Megan is now eight months old! The spots are fading now, and she's much more her normal happy and contented self again, after her nasty bout of chicken pox. She's played on the trampolines at the park, been shopping, gone to toddler group, started a new music class, and a lovely week's holiday in Aviemore.
Megan had a wonderful time while we were on holiday with Grandma and Grandpa. We took her swimming, and she loved propelling herself around in the baby float, especially in the toddler pool where her feet touched the ground and she could walk around in the water. On Wednesday 7th, we went to the Landmark Centre - Megan enjoyed going on the swings and slides, and walking through the forest on the Red Squirrel Trail, but her favourite part was watching Gungle do the Rope Walk, Mummy, Daddy and Aidan, the Water Coaster and Daddy the Sky Dive!
Megan also developed an appreciation for alfresco dining, enjoying her first barbeque (while visiting Auntie Elaine and Uncle Chris), and her first picnic (by Loch Morlich).
Megan shared a room with Aidan for the first time that week, in preparation for moving into his room on our return. As Megan was teething (her seventh tooth appeared on Tuesday 6th, with the eighth clearly also on its way), and Aidan was getting used to a dummy-free life, not a lot of sleep was had by either child. Or for that matter by Mummy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa.
She has also been working very hard on her crawling and standing, becoming much more stable on her feet, and even attempting to pull herself up to standing in the bath. She is definitely mobile now too - doing a sort-of backwards bottom-shuffle (she leans forward from sitting into the crawling position, and then pushes herself back into sitting position again, but with her bottom further back on the floor from where she started) to get herself across the room.
